White Cake Recipe
Do you need to make a cake for your kid’s school class, a party or a potluck? How about a simple White Cake Recipe. It is easy and quick to make.
Ingredients
- Butter or Margarine, ½ cup
- Sugar, 1 ½ cups
- Flour, 2 ½ cups (all purpose)
- Baking Powder, 1 tablespoon
- Salt, ¼ teaspoon
- Egg, 6 large (egg whites only)
- Milk, ¾ cup
- Vanilla Extract, 2 teaspoons
Instructions
- Set a rack at the middle position in the Oven and pre-heat oven to 350 degrees (F).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans.
- Using a large bowl, stir flour, baking powder, and salt together and set aside.
- Using a large mixer bowl, beat butter and sugar until creamy (about 5 minutes). Add 2 egg whites at a time and beat well after each set. Beat in almond extract.
- Reduce speed of mixer to low.
- Using flour/baking soda mixture and milk, alternate beating in about ¼ of both until well blended.
- Scrape sides and stop to scrape mixer blades periodically to ensure batter is well blended.
- Pour batter evenly into both baking pans.
- Smooth tops with a spatula.
- Bake for approximately 30 minutes. It is ready when a wooden tooth pick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Set cake pans on wire racks for 10 minutes to cool.
- Run a knife around the edge to loosen edge of cake. Turn cake pan over carefully putting cake onto a wire rack. Let cool completely.
- Decorate with your favorite frosting for a white cake.
